Another Barrier Falls: Female Squids

Until very recently, the last big barrier* for women in the US Navy has been submarines.  Close quarters and all that.  Well, not any longer.  Officers first since that requires no modifications to the arrangements.  Still waiting for women to make into the formally ground combat jobs (they have already been serving in positions that put them in harm's way, just not the three main branches of the army).  But we have seen huge changes over the past ten years or so.  So, despite all of the frustration with the 21st century, it does not entirely suck.
* Unless one counts female Marines who cannot serve in infantry, armor or artillery.
